Terms of service
Last updated: January 2026
The service
Imok provides a dead man's switch for one-person businesses: if you stop checking in, we deliver your pre-written, encrypted handover packet to your designated successor.
Not a legal document
Imok is not a will, trust, power of attorney, or estate planning tool, and nothing on this site or in the service constitutes legal advice. Your handover packet is an operational document. Consult a qualified attorney for legally binding estate arrangements.
Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for remembering your encryption passphrase. Because of our zero-knowledge design, we cannot recover your passphrase or your packet.
- You are responsible for keeping your successor and trusted contact details current.
- You must check in on schedule or pause your switch before extended absences.
Availability
We aim for reliable operation of check-in reminders and the release process, but the service is provided "as is" without warranties of uninterrupted availability. Do not rely on Imok as your only Imok measure.
Acceptable use
You may not use the service for anything unlawful, to distribute harmful content, or to interfere with the service's operation.
